Big Apple, Bad Luck
My relationship with New York City is definitely one that can be defined as love / hate. I love the city, and the city hates me. No, I'm not being dramatic. I have literally had some of my best and worst travel experiences while visiting Manhattan, and again this week it reminded me that I have worn out my welcome.

TUNESday: "The Walker" by Fitz And The Tantrums
This Sunday is the first Zydeco Marathon and Half in Lafayette, Louisiana. When I registered for the full several weeks ago after Rock 'n' Roll New Orleans, I didn't realize how much my running would fall off during Mardi Gras and the subsequent weeks.

Shamrockin' Run 8K: The 2014 Recap
I may have a dad who's a red-head, look great in green, and only measure up with a slight 5'6" stature, but my heritage can't be traced back to the Emerald Isle. Regardless of my ancestry, at last Sunday's Shamrockin' Run 8K through uptown New Orleans, everyone was Irish.

Al Briede Gold Cup: The 2014 Recap
I had absolutely no idea that the shores of Lake Pontchartain had re-opened through Metairie and Kenner as a running path; however, this past Saturday, it played host for the 2014 Al Briede Gold Cup presented by the New Orleans Track Club. March 2014 Preview
Now that Mardi Gras is behind us, there's nothing on the social calendar, right? Wrong. It's New Orleans, and there's always a festival or parade just around the corner. In the Crescent City, March brings us two weekends of parades to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, Soul Fest, Fashion Week, the Crawfish Festival, Hogs for the Cause, and countless other events. Locals will not have to look far to find something to do.
